Welcome on Board @TUXEDO
Part 40

The open source universe has been expanding steadily for years. This not only continues to drive the software community forward, but also fuels growth at TUXEDO Computers. We’re continuously growing our team – whether in Support, Development, Administration, Product Management or Marketing.

At TUXEDO Computers, many Linux and open source enthusiasts have found a professional home. Maybe there’s a position that fits you too? Don’t worry – you don’t have to have Linux-positive blood flowing through your veins. We don’t bite – even if you prefer apples or windows. Below, we’d like to give one of our newest team members the chance to introduce themselves.

Tobias - Technical Support

How old are you?

I’m 33 years old.

Are you from Augsburg?

Yes, I was born in Augsburg, completed both my schooling and vocational training here, and lived for a while in Lower Bavaria. But ultimately, I wanted to return to Augsburg.

How long have you been working with Linux and why?

I started working with Linux many years ago in the home server space. Since then, it’s never let me go.

How did you learn about TUXEDO Computers?

I researched online to see what professional opportunities were out there. That’s how I came across TUXEDO. Since there was a suitable job posting on the website, I applied right away – and in November 2024, I started working in technical support.

Why did you want to work here?

Since I wanted to move back to Augsburg, I looked into what was professionally possible. And I wanted to work with Linux. TUXEDO was the best combination for me.

What do you do in your department?

Since I work in technical support, I help customers when they have questions or get stuck on a topic. Often, an issue is resolved quickly; others need more help and a good guide.

What do you particularly like about TUXEDO?

My department is full of super nice colleagues – that makes work a lot more fun. We support each other, share tips, and if you don’t know something, there’s always someone willing to help.

What do you dream of for the (TUXEDO) future?

I hope that Linux and TUXEDO continue to enjoy success and that the company reaches many customers.

One last personal question – what are your hobbies?

Pretty much everything related to computers: I love gaming, and I don’t care whether it’s a strategy or point-and-click game, 3D or 2D graphics. If it interests me, I’m in. I’m also very fascinated by hardware and programming in general.
