TUXEDO OS brings upgrade to KDE Plasma 5.27.7

Do you want a continuously updated KDE Plasma desktop? You don’t always have to wait half a year for a major system update: Under TUXEDO OS you always work with the latest KDE Plasma desktop. We also provide updates of other important components such as the kernel, the sound server Pulseaudio or the graphics library Mesa in a timely manner.

What’s new?

Already included in the Preview were:

  • KDE PlasmaKDE Plasma is a modern desktop environment for Linux systems with customizable design, widgets and intuitive user interface. 5.27.7
  • KDE FrameworksKDE Frameworks is a collection of libraries that facilitate KDE software development and provide common functionality. 5.108.0
  • KDE GearKDE Gear is a collection of applications and programs that increase productivity and convenience on KDE desktops. 23.04.3

Upgrade

If you are already using TUXEDO OS on your computer, all upgrades will be offered to you automatically in the form of a “continuous release”.

Graphical

Users of TUXEDO OS receive the updates automatically via the system update. To do this, start the program management Discover and open the item Update at the bottom left of the sidebar. Click on the button Update All to install the updates. Alternatively, simply wait until the system automatically reports the updates and offers them for installation.

Terminal

If you do not want to use a graphical user interface or if you prefer to work in the command line, use the following command to install the update. It rereads the package sources and then applies all pending updates.

sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade
