Chassis quality

This category includes our evaluation of the general quality, workmanship and stability of the chassis, keyboard and touchpad.

We take into account properties such as the torsional rigidity of the chassis base and display, keyboard flexing, the stiffness of the hinges, the materials used and the overall haptic impression.

CPU performance

This rating shows the maximum CPU performance resulting from the fastest processor option available for this TUXEDO on the one hand and the power consumption that the cooling system is able to dissipate on the other.

The »Central Processing Unit« is the most important component of a computer and determines the overall performance of your TUXEDO. The CPU performance results from the amount of computing cores, so-called CPU cores, and their respective clock speeds. The same processor usually runs with lower performance on thin and light notebooks than on thicker machines due to less cooling capacity.

For surfing the web, checking emails or less demaning productive work, a low-end CPU performance is fully sufficient. Some image editing or cutting video files require a performance indicator of at least 30 %.

For more demanding image and video editing, software development or playing games, we recommend a mid-tier processor (50% or better). Highly demanding tasks like 4K video editing with filters and effects, modeling 3D animations with high polycounts or high-end gaming require an upperclass CPU with at least 70% performance rating.

Graphics performance

This rating shows the maximum graphics performance resulting from the fastest GPU option available on the one hand and the power consumption that the cooling system is able to dissipate on the other.

The graphics card is responsible for processing and rendering all visual contents on the screen. For surfing the web, writing emails or less demanding productive work, (very) low graphics performance is fully sufficient. Image editing with several effects or cutting videos can benefit from a faster graphics card and recommend a performance indicator of at least 20 %.

For more demanding video editing in 1080p resolution or higher, 3D modeling or mainstream gaming, we recommend a mid-tier graphics card (50 % or better). Very demanding tasks like video rendering in 4K with many filters and effects, working in big 3D CAD scenes or gaming in max quality settings and 2560x1600 pixels resolution require a performance indicator of at least 70 %.

Acoustic comfort

This rating combines internal measurements of thermals (fan noise and temperatures) of the most powerful hardware configuration under the following three exemplary usage scenarios:

Please note that you can adjust performance and fan settings to your preferences using our inhouse-developed and pre-installed TUXEDO Control Center. Lower fan speeds lead to higher temperatures and - if neccessary - to an automatic reduction in system performance (thermal throttling).

Thin and light notebooks usually get louder and/or warmer compared to thicker devices and have to run their fans more frequently and faster (= louder).

Mobility

This rating shows our evaluation of the portability factor based on chassis dimensions and weight (notebook and power supply).

Your actual portability requirement depends on your usage profile: If you rarely carry your TUXEDO over longer distances, »desktop replacement notebooks« (mobility score: ~50%) offer the best balance of portability and cooling for quieter and more pleasant fan acoustics or higher performance compared to thinner and lighter devices.

If you regularly carry your TUXEDO over longer distances at a stretch, we recommend a lighter total weight of 2.5 to 2.8 kg (incl. power supply; mobility score: ~70 %) - of course at the expense of performance and/or fan noise.

If performance (and possibly fan noise comfort) plays a very minor role and your TUXEDO should act as constant companion more time under your arm or in your bag than on your desk, a very light Linux notebook (less than 1.8 kg; mobility: 80% or higher) is a good choice.

Battery life

This rating shows internal battery life measurements under the following three exemplary usage scenarios:

Fast mainstream-class processor with 16 cores

High operating speed in an ultra-thin enclosure: With 16 processor cores (consisting of 6 performance-optimized performance cores, 8 energy-saving efficiency cores and 2 particularly low-power efficiency cores), the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H is a fast upper mid-range processor and accelerates even demanding work processes for software development or content creation.

Specified with a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 20 watts (minimum) up to 115 watts (maximum Turbo power draw) the actual performance depends on the individual laptop's cooling solution:

With its extremely thin and light chassis, the InfinityBook Pro 15 prioritizes uncompromising mobility and targets a sustained power of 60 watts at full fan speed, which surpasses its predecessor by 15 watts.

Our tip: If you lower the power limit to 45 to 50 watts in the TUXEDO Control Center, you can highly improve fan acoustic comfort for concentrated work or use in the office or living room.

Fast yet power-saving: Intel Arc graphics

The new Intel Arc graphics integrated in the processor is responsible for all graphics rendering and display output. Equipped with 8 Xe graphics cores and a clock speed of up to 2.25 GHz, the energy-saving graphics processing unit offers far more than enough power for all everyday tasks.

Being about twice as fast as its pretty limited predecessor (Intel Xe graphics), the Intel Arc graphics is on a par with the AMD Radeon 780M and allows some light-casual gaming in mostly low to medium detail settings in 1080p resolution - but after hours please.

Please note that the InfinityBook Pro 15 is not a gaming notebook! The graphics unit is barely capable of playing the latest demanding PC games - sometimes not even in lowest graphics settings and resolutions.

If you look for high graphics performance for productivity and sophisticated gaming in the display's native resolution, we either recommend to take a look at the Stellaris Slim 15, which is nearly the same size (please bear in mind though, that this is accompanied by greatly increased fan noise) or to consider an external GPU enclosure (eGPU) connected via Thunderbolt 4.

Very light all-aluminum chassis

With a choice of a matte-black or silver-grey aluminum chassis and an unobtrusive, elegant design, the InfinityBook Pro 15 is a stylish eye-catcher for use at home, in the office, at a business meeting or in your favorite café.

The completely redesigned InfinityBook Pro 15 manages to make a material change from its predecessor's extremely lightweight plastic/magnesium alloy enclosure to a more robust and haptically first-class all-aluminum case while maintaining the nearly identical weight of only 1.6 kg and a fashionably ultra-slim design of less than 20 mm in total height!

Despite its compact footprint of just 342 x 238 mm, the 15.3-inch Linux notebook not only integrates a full size, quiet keyboard equipped with a four-column number pad and large arrow keys in offset position for better ergonomics, but also gives you the choice between the classic ISO and the ANSI keyboard layout mostly common in the US.

Two 7 mm thin fans and two heatpipes under the hood are responsible to keep the lightweight business companion quiet and cool under low load or to ensure a constant performance level of up to 60 watts at full fan speed.

Bright 15.3-inch display for work and multimedia

The InfinityBook Pro 15 comes with a brand-new 15,3-inch display, which closes the gap between the very compact but somewhat limited 14-inch screen area and the slightly larger 16-inch format.

With a high-dpi resolution of 2560x1600 pixels in productivity-friendly 16:10 aspect ratio, a butter-smooth refresh rate of choosable 60 or 240 Hz and 100% sRGB color space coverage, the 330 x 207 mm big screen is suitable for demanding work and multimedia use, while the brightness of 500 nits ensures better readability in bright indoor or outdoor environments.

The up to 180° tiltable display lid offers maximum flexibility for all kind of laptop stands while the privacy webcam shutter prevents unauthorized access to the 1080p webcam.

Maximally large 99 Wh battery for 10 hours video playback

The InfinityBook Pro 15 is targeted at providing the best possible balance of a reasonable big screen and maximum mobility. For the latter, the Linux business ultrabook features a 99 Wh battery which is the maximum allowed for taking a laptop on an airplane. It provides the InfinityBook Pro 15 with battery life for up to 8 hours at websurfing and around 10 hours for local video playback with reduced display brightness (~ 150 nits).

For re-charging the battery and requesting the CPU's full performance, the laptop comes with a handy 100 watts USB-C power supply which can be connected with the USB-C port at the left or the Thunderbolt 4 port at the back of the laptop.

For an energy-saving operation, we recommend our pre-set, tuned power profiles as well as the manual settings for CPU power limit control (TDP) in our inhouse-developed and on your TUXEDO laptop pre-installed TUXEDO Control Center.

Up to 8 TB SSD storage and 96 GB DDR5 RAM

Of course, the TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 15 does not have to do without removable SO-DIMM RAM or expandable SSD mass storage.

After removing the chassis bottom panel, which is covered by the warranty, two M.2 SSDs for up to 8 terabytes with PCIe 4.0 high-speed connection are equally accessible for replacement as two upgradeable RAM slots for up to 96 GB of fast DDR5-5600-RAM.

For even more storage space, you get 10 GB myTUXEDO cloud storage for free with every TUXEDO laptop or PC. This way, you can access your data conveniently and securely (encrypted and hosted in compliance with german data protection regulations) at any time from anywhere and with any Internet-capable laptop, PC or smartphone.

Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 and USB-C charging

As very lightweight business notebook focussed on highest mobility, the InfinityBook Pro 15 features Power Delivery DC-In for charging via compact USB-C power supply (100 watts | 20 V / 5 A).

HDMI 2.1 and 2x DisplayPort (USB-C) allow the connection of up to 3 external high-resolution monitors. Further 3x USB Type A, a card reader (SD/SDHC/SDXC) and a RJ45 LAN port which is not a matter of course in such a thin chassis, round off the ports selection.
