The high-end processor is specified with a standard TDP of 55 watts, which, however, has to be exceeded by far for full performance - as is the case with all CPUs. This is where the wheat is separated from the chaff and the real performance depends on the laptop's cooling quality:

Whereas ultra-thin notebooks can hold high clock speeds only for a short time, the enhanced cooling of the Gemini 15 can sustain a power consumption of up to 100 watts and thus almost double the standard TDP to constantly provide outstanding performance for content creation or gaming.

Fast NVIDIA graphics for work & play!

For high frame rates in games and fast GPU renderings, the Gemini 15 - Gen2 is powered by NVIDIA's efficiency- and performance-enhanced graphics processing units introduced in January 2023 in the form of the GeForce RTX 4050, RTX 4060 and RTX 4070.

But that's not all: While NVIDIA defines a huge range of performance levels between 35 and 115 watts, the Gemini 15 comes only with the fastest 115 watt variants!

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4050 is the entry-level model. With 6 GB of GDDR6 memory, it replaces the old RTX 3060 in terms of performance and is thus a good choice for gaming in Full HD or - with reduced graphics details - in WQHD.

With 2 GB of additional VRAM and over 20% higher performance, the GeForce RTX 4060 is our price-performance tip and equally suitable for high-fps gaming in Full HD or high to maximum graphics details in WQHD.

The GeForce RTX 4070 with also 8 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory positions itself about 15% ahead of the RTX 4060 and 40% ahead of the RTX 4050 for very demanding games and productivity render tasks.

All three GPUs can automatically shift up to 25 watts of power from the CPU to the GPU via Dynamic Boost - depending on the application and system load. However, this only seems to happen in special apps and rare scenarios with the new RTX 4000 series graphics cards (regardless of the notebook manufacturer and operating system).

Back to the roots: Solid enclosure in a classic workstation design.

The Gemini 15 neither searches for the spotlight nor features an extravagant, flashy chassis design with RGB LED bells and whistles. Instead it refocuses on a solid and subtle looking enclosure as well as good cooling for great performance or lower fan noise - depending on your settings in our TUXEDO Control Center - without sacrificing comfortable transportability.

In contrast to its exterior understatement, under the hood the TUXEDO Gemini 15 boasts a shiny copper ventilation system in order to adequately cool its high-performance components. The total z-height of just under 2.7 cm (lid closed) allows for better airflow due to higher fans and heatsinks than on typical thin-and-light gaming notebooks while still ensuring a more than adequate portability.

The latter benefits from the full plastic chassis material choice which provides a plain and solid stability while saving weight. Considering this is a high-performance desktop replacement, the Gemini 15 - Gen2 features a moderate weight of 2.4 kg.

The large clickpad with integrated mouse buttons measures 119 x 71 mm, while the quiet membrane keyboard with integrated four-column-numpad features a practical multicolor backlight for comfortable working in dim environments.

15.6-inch in Full HD or WQHD

Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) vs WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels)? In order to find the appropriate resolution for you, it comes down to your primary purpose of use:

While 1080p requires less performance it is recommended for providing higher FPS (Frames Per Second) in current PC games and still enough FPS in upcoming AAA titles (especially when choosing the mid-tier GeForce RTX 4050), the more detailed WQHD panel is the better choice for graphics works, image editing or the general wish for a high resolution picture for work & play on the 37.4 x 24.5 cm 15.6-inch display.

Both display options cover nearly the full sRGB color gamut, come with a panel brightness of around 300 nits and support NVIDIA's G-SYNC and Advanced Optimus.

While the latter automatically switches the internal display from the Intel processor's iGPU to the powerful GeForce graphics during gaming to optimize performance, NVIDIA G-SYNC dynamically sychronizes the panel refresh rate with the GPU to ensure a smooth gaming experience by avoiding "screen tearing".

73 Wh battery for up to 9 hours

With its extremely high processor and very fast graphics performance, the TUXEDO Gemini 15 is primarily designed as a portable desktop replacement workstation. Equipped with an internally screwed 73 Wh battery, the compact powerhouse nevertheless allows for working remotely for - depending on the usage profile - up to 6 hours away from the power socket. In idle mode it even reaches up to 9 hours of battery life.

For an energy-saving operation, we recommend our specially tuned power profiles as well as the manual CPU power limit control in our self-developed and already on your TUXEDO laptop pre-installed TUXEDO Control Center.

For stationary use plugged into a wall outlet, battery charge control ("Flexicharger") via the UEFI / BIOS as well as via the above-mentioned TUXEDO Control Center lets you define charge limits for increasing your battery's life span.

Up to 8 TB SSD storage and 64 GB DDR5 RAM

Of course, the TUXEDO Gemini 15 - Gen2 features both exchangeable SO-DIMM RAM slots and expandable M.2 SSD mass storage.

After removing the Linux laptop's bottom panel, which is of course covered by the warranty, two RAM slots for up to 64 GB of fast DDR5 memory with up to 5600 MHz clock speeds as well as two M.2 SSDs for max. 8 terabytes with PCIe 4.0 high-speed connection are easily accessible for replacement.

For even more storage space, you get 10 GB myTUXEDO cloud storage for free with every TUXEDO laptop or PC. In this way, you can access your data conveniently and securely (data protection-compliant hosted with data encryption on German servers in Falkenstein and Augsburg) at any time from anywhere and with any Internet-capable laptop, PC or smartphone.

HDMI 2.1, Mini DisplayPort 1.4 and 4x USB

The connectivity of the TUXEDO Gemini 15 offers 2x DisplayPort 1.4 (1x via Thunderbolt 4 / USB-C, 1x Mini-DisplayPort) and HDMI 2.1 for connecting up to 3 external monitors or for hooking up a virtual reality headset. Together with the notebook display, 4 screens can be used simultaneously.

While the Thunderbolt 4 port connects to the CPU's power-efficient iGPU, the Mini DisplayPort as well as the HDMI 2.1 interface are wired to the NVIDIA GeForce GPU to deliver maximum performance for gaming or VR headsets.

On the data side, both USB-C ports are joined by another two USB-A ports, a microSD card reader and the RJ45 LAN port for wired network connection in addition to the wireless Wi-Fi 6E module. The Gemini 15's connectivity setup is rounded off by the jack plugs for microphone and headphones and the obligatory Kensington Lock.
