TUXEDO Computers expands its staff and introduces its team

Thaddäus - support

Welcome on Board

How old are you?

35 epic levels.

Are you from Augsburg?

Yes, I was born here, grew up here and never left. ^^

How long have you been working with Linux and why?

I have been working with Linux for about 10 years now. Originally I started out of necessity, because I wanted to get a PC running again, which regularly ran out of memory for Windows. It worked! And from then on, my love for Linux was born.

How do you know TUXEDO Computers?

At the time, I discovered a job posting and then went to the website to find out more. The concept was immediately appealing to me.

Why did you want to work at TUXEDO Computers?

Ultimately, it was purely a gut decision that became concrete during/after the job interview. Apart from that, I was one of the very first employees at that time and the first in the support area: It was incredibly appealing to me to be able to actively contribute and help shape many areas, actually all of them. It was an exciting challenge - but you could never say you were bored - not until today!

What are you doing in your field?

Joke answer: Yes. :)

In detail: Actually I had my fingers in it everywhere. Currently, I'm mainly occupied with some challenging cases in support and I do hardware service for desktop PCs. In addition, I do device tests in the desktop area. In the meantime, I've been with the company for so long that I'll soon be changing my field of work and moving from support to development, where I'll be responsible for our online store as a store developer. However, the transition will be slow and smooth, so that everyone involved can get used to new tasks.

What do you particularly like about TUXEDO / the devices?

Since I've been around for a long time, I see the development over the last few years and that's just fun to look back and see how much more functionality we can ensure over the years. I also still think it's great that so much remains modular, despite devices getting flatter and smaller.

I also think it's good that I've been able to work in many areas here and ultimately also get to my passion, programming.

What do you dream about for the (TUXEDO) future?

I am looking forward to the general improvement in the hardware sector (keyword: availability of hardware/components) and also to being able to contribute new solutions as a developer that will provide a positive experience for colleagues and customers.

Another personal thing - what are your hobbies?

I like to cook, but unfortunately don't like cleaning up after so much. Then of course I deal with programming and spend my free time with PC gaming.
