Welcome on Board @TUXEDO
Part 37

The open source universe has been expanding steadily for years. This not only drives the software community further and further, but also ensures growth at TUXEDO Computers. We are continuously expanding our workforce: Whether in support, development and server administration, or in product management and marketing.

At TUXEDO Computers, many Linux and Open Source enthusiasts find a professional home. Maybe there is a suitable position for you, too? Don’t worry: You don’t have to have Linux-positive blood in your veins. We won’t bite, even if you prefer apples or windows. In the following, we would like to give one of our newest team members the opportunity to introduce him- or herself a little.

Marc - Apprentice System integration

How old are you?

I am now 21.

Are you from Augsburg?

Yes, I'm from Augsburg - so I'm not far from my training at TUXEDO. That saves a lot of time and I can do a few things "on the side" during my commute.

How long have you been working with Linux and why?

To be honest, I only started to get more involved with Linux when I started my training. The nice thing about TUXEDO is that knowledge is not a prerequisite, you can be a complete beginner. I have already tried out live systems in my private life - mainly out of curiosity and to find out what the hardware compatibility is like.

How do you know TUXEDO?

I was at the fitforJOB! trade fair in Augsburg last year and got some information there - including at the TUXEDO stand. I spoke to the Head of Support there. My impression was positive and I applied for the systems integration apprenticeship. And this year I even attended the fair myself.

Why did you want to work here?

I thought the open source approach was great, and I thought: Hey, why not?

What do you do in your field?

Currently, I'm working in tech support and RMA processing During my training, I'm actually going through all areas to get an overview, and that's really exciting.

What do you particularly like about TUXEDO / the devices?

With the devices, there are always tasks that need to be solved and that you can solve. I particularly like the challenges. The team spirit among colleagues makes working at TUXEDO easy.

What do you dream of for the (TUXEDO) future? What motivates you at TUXEDO?

Above all, I want to successfully complete my training and then stay here. I can also well imagine acquiring additional qualifications - let's see what's possible.

Which subject do you like best at vocational school?

I find the subject of business administration the most interesting: it's exciting how you can implement and organize large-scale projects well and still remain human and take the figures into account. The subject helps me to organize things on a small scale; for example, I try to respond to customer replies as efficiently as possible.

Something else personal - what are your hobbies?

I'm currently doing a lot of TikTok, I like reading manga and watching anime. I'm also very interested in cosplay, but I haven't got round to doing anything yet.
